I’ve always loved food, but growing up I ate without regard to my health. As a teenager, I decided to become a vegetarian and started cooking for my family. I soon fell in love with everything about fresh, handmade food – from grocery shopping to chopping vegetables. When I moved away to college, that feeling only grew stronger. There was something about my new surroundings that just “clicked” for me. I feel so blessed to live in an area with deep connections to the slow food movement, with limitless choices when it comes to fresh produce and foodie finds, and where the real visionaries of the future of food are based (ahem ahem).
